Our History
Established in 1997 by founding pastors Jim and Lesley Beattie, Hope Vineyard Sunderland began its journey as a plant from Sunderland Christian Centre, which was itself planted out of Bethshan Church, Newcastle. Called to serve the East End/Hendon area of Sunderland on the south side of the river, our remit was always to function in a practical way, and bring spiritual regeneration, both in our neighbourhood and, along with other congregations, as part of the bigger city vision. The Church became part of the the Vineyard movement in September 2021.

We are passionate about Jesus and His Church. There is nothing we enjoy more than spending time with family and friends usually over food. We firmly believe that God has called us at this time, for this purpose to help build His church and serve our community.
